The upside of this enhancement is calls are now supported directly from the list of phone numbers. To use the feature, head to the contacts and the option to call is now available. As always, Microsoft has issued a changelog:

Call on Skype from the phone book – Now you can call people on Skype directly from the phone book. Go to your contacts and look for the option to call a contact using Skype. Improved user experience that participates in Skype calls by using an invitation link. Stability and reliability improvements.

If you are interested in the update, or indeed the Skype for Android app, you can download it from the Google Play Store here. Recently on the Android OS, Skype received an update that introduced call recording to the app.

Call Recording

Also available on desktop and iOS, the feature lets users, well, record calls. Microsoft says the ability is now available on Skype for iOS and Android, while the desktop app has also received the upgrade. Microsoft manages all data from call recording in the cloud. The company says this allows the feature to work more efficiently across platforms. However, there are certainly some users who won’t appreciate their data being in the cloud.
