However, while Microsoft told users to update their drivers, it seems the company’s solution does not work. Users are reporting they are still seeing an error message when they update to the Windows 10 May 2019 Update. Despite updating the Intel RST driver, users are still being pegged y the problem. Users continue to see the following message: “Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST): The inbox storage driver iastora.sys doesn’t work on these systems. And causes stability problems on Windows. Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows.” It looks as though there are two issues affecting the driver, and not just the outdated Intel RST. Microsoft has not yet said what the other problem may be. So, we will update accordingly when the company drops some information.

Other Intel Problems

Windows machines have had some issues from Intel drivers recently. Intel issued a warning to Windows users who have downloaded its Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT) to update as soon as possible. In a notice, the company says IPDT versions 4.1.2.24 and below have a vulnerability that can be exploited. “A potential security vulnerability in the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool may allow escalation of privilege, denial of service, or information disclosure.  Intel is releasing software updates to mitigate this potential vulnerability.”
