This will work across the Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and flagship Xbox Series X. However, it seems the patch to getting this feature is more complex than it needs to be. Firstly, players need to connect their Xbox (Microsoft) account with their Discord account. So, that means getting the Xbox mobile app. This is necessary because the feature works by transferring Discord calls from the app to the console. Next, connect your accounts. Unfortunately, even if you have done this in the past you will need to do it again to have the correct voice call permissions. It’s not over yet as whenever you want to do a Discord voice call on Xbox, you need to start it in Discord and select “Transfer to Xbox”. Then select the Xbox console in the Xbox mobile app, and then it’s done.
Welcome Addition
Hardly the smoothest integration ever. Still, this is a nice addition that Microsoft says will add more communication to the Xbox platform. “While you are playing on your console, you will be able to see who is in the call and speaking,” says Eric Voreis, principal program manager for Xbox player experiences and platforms. “You’ll also be able to adjust the sound, and switch between Discord Voice and Xbox game chat.” This could have been so much easier is Microsoft had followed up on its rumored interest in buying Discord for $10 billion. Tip of the day: File History is a Windows back up feature that saves each version of files in the Documents, Pictures, Videos, Desktop, and Offline OneDrive folders. Though its name implies a primary focus on version control, you can actually use it as a fully-fledged backup tool for your important documents.
